Despite only being 19, fellow BIMM student Joey Gardiner has already started knocking at the music industry's door. Self proclaiming that 'early 1975 vibes' was the aim, and a main and clear influence on the body of work he was set to write. Whilst the conventions and feel of young, indie bedroom pop are there, the rule breaking shines through as his catalogue takes on a more rough and ready rock like feel with a nod to some darker subjects, touching upon mental health and addiction. After releasing a string of singles over lockdown, he's been met with a great response from a local South West audience, and actor Paul Cooper giving him full support. He's set to take on the UK Festival circuit of 2021 and for us to be met with an e.p in August
