Johnny Lawrence is an active American music artist and actor that has been around the Detroit, MI scene since the mid 90's. His music provides a unique blend of 80's hair band melodies mashed with 90s style rap with a splash of comedy in his rhymes. He got his early hip hop start in elementary school after he received his first radio for Christmas and discovered FM98WJLB in Detroit. Taking his craft to the next level, he and three brothers started a rap group called Nu MCs in high school, selling 2000 cassette tapes of their titled "Nu Mcz - Smokin' wit Productos." Moving on to college, JL created his Demo, started doing local shows at the Kodiak in Shelby Twp to performing at Comerica Park before a Detroit Tiger game for Fox Sports. His albums to date are "Step into the Coolhouse," "Dirt Cheap," and "Forties and Fornication." He has various other released and soon to be unreleased singles and is currently working on his follow up album.
