I couldn't be more thrilled than to tell you about my recently completed solo record "The Only Place You Know". The first single will be released the week of August 16th - Its the title track of the record The Only Place You Know Written only partially in lockdown, stretching quite a bit before that, TOPYK produces a narrative arc, encompassing shifting genres and a wide range of emotion and influence. The record grapples with passing time, family life, in a lo-fi haze reflective of the state we sometimes find ourselves in throughout our lives, as the world moves faster than the mind can keep up with. Whats the damage from all of this? There are no easy answers, often more questions than solutions. Here, we dare to ask a bit and while there is no denouement, there may be some catharsis to be had in it all. Then again, maybe not, yet the sound is easy to get lost in. Hope you fall in!
