Jumpel is the solo project of Jo Dürbeck, launched in 2005 after his years with the German band Bones. After the band, Jo and René Dohmen founded their own studio and went on to become one of Germany’s most established composer teams for film and television. Together, they scored more than 160 productions and received numerous awards and nominations, including the German Television Award, the Max Ophüls Prize, the Best Score Award at Film Festival Valencia, and the Deutscher Musikautorenpreis.
In 2026, after many highly successful years, they decided to continue on separate paths. With Jumpel, Jo follows his own artistic vision, creating intimate, reduced and atmospheric music with emotional depth and a distinctive sonic character. Moving between ambient sound, cinematic detail and subtle experimentation, his work is marked by clarity, restraint and a quiet but lasting intensity.
