Justin's music borders on the avant-garde / experimental. Justin Philip Nash started playing clarinet when he was about 10 years old. After playing the clarinet a few years, he took lessons in alto saxophone and piano. After receiving a Bachelor's in Music from Humboldt State University (2007), he moved to Oakland, CA. and took a MFA in Music from Mills College in 2014, where he studied composition with Roscoe Mitchell and Steed Cowart among others. He has since directed several choirs and performed throughout the Bay Area as pianist, keyboardist, and composer / arranger.
