Khrys Williams is a trumpeter, composer, and arranger who’s best known for their work with the J-MUSIC Ensemble and their role in the Joe Iconis musical Broadway Bounty Hunter. Since Khrys wrote their first piece for big band (inspired by video game soundtracks) at age 15, their love for music started a journey. After moving to New York City at 18 to study jazz composition under Grammy Award-winning composer/arranger Jim McNeely at Manhattan School of Music and graduating in 2017, they’ve composed and arranged works whose views have collectively amassed more than 3 million views and streams. As a composer and arranger, Khrys prides themselves on not only encompassing a variety of genres – such as house, neo-soul, and J-Pop constructions – in their works but also on their identity as a non-binary musician in the LGBTQ+ community.
