Akhona Kyle Dlomo, also known as KID (Kidkestar), was born on April 1, 2005, in Pietermaritzburg. From a young age, he had a passion for music. His love for music grew stronger as he began writing lyrics in Grade 10. He was particularly inspired by the late Mpura, who tragically passed away in 2021. Mpura’s influence, alongside his own deep love for amapiano, motivated Akhona to pursue a career in the music industry.
Determined to further his knowledge, he enrolled in sound engineering at SAE Institute in Cape Town, where he honed his skills. His studies not only solidified his foundation in music but also gave him the tools to continue pushing forward in the music and entertainment industry. Akhona's journey reflects his commitment to his craft and his desire to make a lasting impact in the world of amapiano and beyond.
