King The Cure is a first generation West African-American from Liberia, born and raised in Washington DC. He embodies the true essence of an African-American, blending tribal sounds, go-go music, and the beloved 808s. His inspiration comes from a variety of artists, ranging from rappers and producers like Wale, J. Cole, and Big Sean, to musicians like Timberland, Kanye, and Just Blaze. He also draws influence from groups such as New Edition, NIB, Mambo Sauce, Lincoln Park, and CCB, as well as singers like Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Barbra Morrison, and James Brown. King's unique sound is a result of growing up with these diverse genres. His journey in music has been shaped by his imperfections, insecurities, trials, and tribulations. King's purpose and goal are to inspire others to pursue their dreams, encouraging them to be great, true, solid, and, above all, authentically themselves, even when the world tries to shame them for it.
