Vernal Shepherd an accomplished musician/music producer with over 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry, is also the owner of VSJ Records LLC which was established in 2005 in Kalamazoo, MI. Born and raised in Chicago, IL where he started playing the bass guitar at the age of six years old. VernaI formed the Light Touch band at the age of 15 years old, the band played many block parties, concerts in the parks gaining a local following that culminated with a sold out concert at Chicago's famous McCormick Place. Light Touch also released a disco album in 1982 titled My Chicago with the B side being Sexy Lady, the record label was Magic Touch. Relocating to Kalamazoo, MI in 1986, Vernal continued his musical career playing bass and lead guitar for his home church and several singing groups while producing instrumental soundtracks for various rappers and spoken word artist as well as solo R&B artist under his VSJ Record label.
