Von trained in music, dance and theater in her hometown of New Orleans and Atlanta. She entered the entertainment business professionally in 1998, singing backup on various up and coming artists' music. After having sat on an independent label without release for over a year, Von set out to release her music independently. She showcased her songs at various venues in Atlanta, generating much interest. She then decided to record her full debut album, The Love & Light Verses in 2004. Von says, “I really thought The Love & Light Verses would never see the light of day,” after she pivoted into film and TV, and had a few personal setbacks, including being diagnosed with Lupus. However, in 2024, with renewed focus, and a reawakening of her timeless music, The Love & Light Verses will be released and is sure to become a classic. On the first single being released on a Sunday, the date of 3/24/24 has much significance. But, she says “I’m going to keep that under wraps for now."
