Leona Zilphia Coakley-Spring: Singer-song writer, actress. cosmetology Instructor, humanitarian, artist. *Leona was born in Cargill Creek, Andros Island, Bahamas *At the age of 22 Leona left the Bahamas, moving to Chicago, Illinois *In Chicago she attended a well-known acting school and won several stage roles *Also in Chicago where Leona enrolled in the renowned Pivot Point Academy of Cosmetology and graduated with honors *In the mid 1980’s Leona move her family to Seattle *She managed salons, taught beauty school, and eventually opened her own salon *In Seattle she fed and provided haircuts to homeless people *In 1997 and continuing through 2017 she held concerts in the Seattle area raising money to assist organizations helping AIDS sufferers in Africa and The Bahamas *Her latest song is A World of Love and Peace. It is her dream of a day when our broken and hurting world can enjoy love and peace for all humanity, regardless of where they live or the color of their skin.
