Lisa Verlo is a writer, performer, and lyricist whose songs have been featured on film and TV. After recording a couple albums of spoken word and song, Lisa teamed up with composer and musician Frank Simes, collaborating on music, multimedia, and musical theatre, staging their original musical The Door at the Sierra Madre Playhouse in 2012. Verlo performed her musical solo show Sex Rated G at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015 and the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2018. Lisa’s second musical solo show, HOLLYWOODN’T, was featured at Solofest 2019, the Binge Fringe Festival at the Santa Monica Playhouse, and the Hollywood Fringe Festival, where it won a Producer’s Encore Award and was nominated for the Larry Cornwall Award for Musical Excellence. Lisa performed HOLLYWOODN'T as part of the Solo Star Series at the Zephyr Theatre in Hollywood in 2022 and at the EdFringe Festival in 2023, Lisa is currently finishing up HOLLYWOODN’T the memoir, and an upcoming podcast and dome show The Big Strum.
