Singer/songwriter/guitarist/bassist Lou Kaplan began his career by founding the Southern rock/outlaw country band Mad Jack. Mad Jack released five independent albums and shared the stage with the Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, the Marshall Tucker Band and Commander Cody. Lou then joined the legendary British blues band Savoy Brown. Lou played bass on Savoy's Live and Kickin' album, appeared at Woodstock '89, and did shows with Humble Pie, Badfinger, Eddie Money and James Cotton and ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor. Lou also recorded albums and performed live with blues rockers Last Train Out and the critically acclaimed Americana duo Ghost Town Ramblers. His new solo album Ride or Die was released in February of 2022. Lou calls it "12 songs about life, death, love, loss, winning, losing, sin and redemption... conceived, written, played and sung with every damn thing I've got!" Lou's new music could best be described as Americana with echoes of outlaw country and California folk rock.
