Don Saginario is a composer/performer whose rare non-metronomic style has a snappy forward motion crossing all language barriers and musical genres. He was 14 when he opened for the Young Rascals in NYC and was soon a regular in NYC's Village Gate and Coventry. Barely out of his teens, he met and learned from Steppenwolf and Billy Joel and sat in with Stan Bronstein's Elephants Memory, John Lennon's backup band. In the early '70s he played back-to-back with Kiss as he also developed formidable blues chops on the Chitlin' Circuit. And his work on electric guitar led to recording sessions in London. Upon his return to the U.S. Saginario's penchant for performing jazz on bass guitar led to his inclusion in the Manhattan Downtown Loft scene and tutelage under NYC's esteemed guitarists John Scofield and Joe Monk. He began his classical studies under NYC's Jorge Morel before heading to the Tampa/Miami area, a fertile ground for his foray into Latin music. Saginario now calls Tampa home.
