Maria Neves Leite, born in Sao Vicente, Cabo Verde, performed globally with Cabo Verdean artists for nearly 40 years. Starting to sing at seven, she honed her talent with family and friends. Her debut solo album, "Castanhinha," featured a morna composed by her father for her mother, a cherished piece she continues to perform. She triumphed in the Todo Mundo Canta competition, representing Sao Vicente.
