Mallika Giarimi is a singer and song writer with early influences from Swedish folk music and jazz as well as 70s-80s singer-songwriters, pop and rock. With her strong love for rhythms she take much inspiration from world music of all kinds. She is passionate about music and lyrics. Mallika has been writing new music over the past years, and will be releasing singles starting spring 2024, both as solo projects, and in collaboration with other musicians. Since 2016 she is playing regularly on scenes in Stockholm with her band: Som’thin’ with Mallika, and released their first album in 2017. “The singer Mallika Giarimi makes her recording debut with her group on this five-track CD. Three of the songs are Mallika’s own originals. The basis of these is jazz with elements of airy soul and easy-going rhythms. The fact that her tonal vocals are close to jazz naturally contributes to that experience. Overall, it’s a good debut. Jefferson Blues Magazine”
