Mancala

Frederick, MD

Mancala is the self produced alternative/indie rock duo of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, frontman, composer and producer; Marcos Posse-Mir, and drummer/percussionist; Holden Cowburn. Creatively led by Marcos, Mancala blends sounds of alternative and indie rock staples such as Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, the Flaming Lips and Tame Impala while bringing something new to the table. With lush orchestration, densely layered abstract lyricism, soaring guitar solos, and maximalist, synthy production, Mancala's debut record "We're Only Getting Older" expresses the confusion of stumbling into adolecence and then adulthood, along with the harsh realizations that come with meeting less than pleasant people in the process of doing so.
