Marlene started writing songs at 13, reflecting the turbulent world of the 70s. She grew up, joined a cult, married and had 4 kids, and left the cult to study true Christianity and be a missionary to the world. As she continued to write songs, she created an outreach to ex cult members thru the internet As they say, she was waiting for her youngest, Jasmine, to grow up, and accompanied her to the University of Hawaii where they both got degrees in music. During that time, they went to Spain to learn Flamenco guitar, of which Jazzy is an expert. Naming their band Nightbloom, they played all over Hawaii until they moved to San Diego, from which they based their touring with added members Since COVID, they have used the time to become better producers, taken classes in music production and sync licensing and are developing a course for beginning guitarists. Marlene not only wants to perform their flamenco-rock and her singer-songwriter ballads, but to help others find their dreams!
