Ciya De Hunter, born Siyabonga Thamsanqa Mbatha, is a South African Afro House 3-Step DJ, producer, and songwriter from Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal, and raised in Vereeniging. He creates soulful Afro House sounds that inspire people to dance and connect through African music. He graduated from Tshwane University of Technology with a Diploma in Performing Arts (Technical Theatre and Design) and completed his high school education at Chrystal Springs Combined School in Sebokeng. Ciya De Hunter began releasing music in 2026 with songs including “The Beginning”, “Dance Again”, and “Shumayela” featuring Melu Max, showcasing his unique 3-Step sound and growing artistic journey.
