Meaghan Nelson loves an eclectic mix of music including classical, pop, rock, swing, blues and heavy metal. In childhood she played piano, sax and loved singing, and in 2010 taught herself guitar. She wrote her first song 'Especially For You', in 2011 and was encouraged by music producer, Michael Robinson, to record ‘The Dream’ and ‘Especially For you’. Both were nominated top 25 in the 2012 ASA Awards in Acoustic category. In 2015, she recorded 5 more songs, with music producer Steve Wade, including ‘Side Saddle’, a pop/rock F**k You song, ‘Keep Us Human’, about hope in a damaged world and ‘Angel’s Lullabye’, inspired by her daughter’s imaginings. In 2019, her song ‘Move On’ was selected as one of 10 to be recorded for The Phoenix Ensemble album. Meaghan loves being able to create something from nothing; letting the words fall from her mind and spill onto the page, using descriptive analogies and word cadence and then tying it all together with music.
