Michelle Davies was raised between the US Virgin Islands and rural Oregon. After finishing college with a general science degree, she took off traveling, backpacking and sailing for years around the Caribbean and Central America. On long bus rides, cross-country drives, or trans-ocean passages, she hummed and scribbled dozens of sketches of songs. Finally, she returned to the Caribbean, and planted herself in Puerto Rico, where she was able to focus on singing and writing. Inspired by such artists as Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson, and Brandi Carlile, she developed a mix of storytelling beach music she dubs "Island Folk Pop". Since March 2025, she has been working with recording producer John Noll in Studio Ensenada to release her debut five-song EP, "Gemini Moon".
