My Idiot Boy began as an experimental journey into the cross-section of post rock, progressive rock, pop and hip hop. With early beginnings in New York City, My Idiot boy has trained himself to play piano, guitar and drums. He continues to be influenced by artists spanning from 1980s to today. Throughout his production career he has worked with artists all over the United States, challenging his adaptability skills in a saturated, seemingly, generic climate.
Much of the inspiration of My Idiot Boy comes from artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Caspian, and Daft Punk. He uses the crescendos found in many post-rock tracks with the subtle beats of pop and hiphop artists. The debut EP, The Night Before, is inspired by his own story, an exploration of his experience moving from coast to coast and a journey of self examination.
