Known for his warm, soulful vocals and emotionally honest approach to contemporary soul music, Nate Simpson blends classic soul storytelling with modern groove-driven production, jazz-informed phrasing, and rich melodic warmth. Influenced by artists such as Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandross, Maxwell, Stevie Wonder, and D’Angelo, his sound bridges timeless soul tradition with a modern atmospheric edge. Born and raised in Berkshire, UK, Simpson discovered music early through soul, jazz, gospel, and R&B, learning piano at the age of four. Before stepping into theatre and international touring, he first emerged as an original recording artist, receiving support from BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1 for his soulful songwriting and distinctive vocal style. He later built an international live career with credits including Motown the Musical, Disney’s The Lion King, and Get Up Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical.
