Justin Neway uses retro synths combined with acoustic guitar and traditional orchestral instruments to create though provoking songs with a touch of nostalgia. He was born and raised in South Africa where he attended Pretoria Boys High School (PBHS) and started playing guitar at age 14. He’s lived in France and Canada, but he feels most at home along the front range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains where he lives in rural Boulder County. He holds a B.Sc. (Microbiology) and M.Sc. (Biochemistry) from the University of Calgary, Canada, and a Ph.D. (Biochemistry) from the University of Illinois, Urbana, USA. He plays a left-handed nylon stringed acoustic guitar with a unique picking style. His songs are about the profound experiences of life; love, friendship, leadership, and other heartfelt moments. He sometimes incorporates ambient and atmospheric elements into his arrangements to transport listeners to the places that inspired him.
