Organeth

Plymouth, UK

Blending the shimmering guitars of shoegaze with the motorik pulse of krautrock and the shifting textures of electronic music, Organeth is the solo project of Plymouth-based musician Chris Mildren. Originally from West Cornwall and now based in Plymouth, UK, Mildren is a guitarist, bassist, and electronic musician. He has played in bands moving between dark indie, punk and post-punk, and trip-hop, before reigniting Organeth in 2023. The name Organeth is a fabricated amalgamation of two Cornish words: ‘organedh’ (organism) and ‘organek’ (organic). It reflects Mildren’s love of evolving, organic electronics and effects-driven guitar tones, while nodding to his Cornish heritage. Primarily a studio project, Organeth also performs live in and around Plymouth. Influences include Stereolab, Jane Weaver, My Bloody Valentine, Wire, Cocteau Twins, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Neu!, Plaid, Broadcast, and Orbital.
