After the brief writing project Bizzi Twyg, Sharples went off grid to live in the woods, p\mainly performing ad-hoc, unplugged gigs to try out new myths n riffs, singing and playing fingerstyle acoustic. Returning from 5 years in the wilderness, Sharples rediscovered electricity and started experimenting with new musical ideas as The Materia Experiment. His current work is often raw and unpolished, covering prog, folk, rock, ambient and experimental genres. Shirking popularity and people in general, Sharples now rarely, if ever, performs live.
