Paperwaves

Saint Paul, Minnesota

Paperwaves makes music in the liminal spaces—between exhaustion and clarity, between grief and acceptance. Rooted in electronica, lofi, and synthwave beats, their sound stretches from soft, meditative textures to high-octane driving energy. Created largely during periods of chronic illness and bedrest, these tracks became more than just songs—they were a way through. Drawing from personal experiences with physical illness, mental health struggles, and childhood trauma, Paperwaves transforms pain, frustration, and anger and blends it into something that is equally at home in study playlists, focus music, and gaming soundscapes. Each piece feels like learning how to exist with what can’t be changed—and finding something meaningful there anyway.
