This record has a definite theme, for the collection of twelve songs chronologically relates some of the experiences of the Dweller on the Threshold, who can be understood as the sum-total of an individual Personality, as distinct from the Soul. This indicates our lower selves, which still wrestle with their animal-nature, versus the eternal, spiritual-qualities which we are all in the process of developing. Throughout the record, the Dweller has many trying experiences and yet still fails to attain the goal. Patrick has been carrying these songs in his heart since writing his first song, Solution Circle in 1991, but like the songwriters themselves, the songs have undergone severe transmutation from their original states.
