In 2007 after hearing grime MC Griminal on Wiley’s album, Tony was inspired and wrote his first lyrics. He then went on to make his first mixtape ‘Duppy N Leave’ in 2009. After several years of making grime, Tony was invited to Ethiopia; through his dad who was a South Sudanese diplomat. He chose to perform poetry rather than grime at the 50th anniversary of the African Union, believing that it would correlate better. On his return to the UK, Tony decided that he would focus a lot more on poetry and went on to self-publish two books within a 2-year period touching on topics such as life, love, relationships and parenthood. Today, Tony’s focus is to speak to a generation, liberate people from poverty through the use of word and empower and inspire through passion and boldness.
