Born and raised in the Bay Area surrounded by the burgeoning folk, bluegrass, and rock scenes of the 60’s and 70’s, Rachel Anne Goodman began writing songs as a youngster surrounded by music played for the fun of it. She spent time living in Appalachia where she produced documentaries about traditional country and old-time music and was inspired by artists like Patsy Montana, Hazel Dickens, and Ola Belle Reed. She plays locally with her band, The Coast Ridge Ramblers (Americana/folk) and an Irish ensemble, Stone Circle and performed at the Parkfield Bluegrass Festival. Rachel is a founder of the community radio station KSQD (K-Squid) in Santa Cruz, California, where she has lived for the past three decades.
