I’m a musician who grew up in northern Wisconsin, and in 1973 I discovered Leo Kottke’s 6 & 12 String Guitar, which inspired me to learn finger‑style playing. It didn’t come easily—I wasn’t born with rubber fingers, and it took years of steady work to get where I am. I’ve always loved playing, and that love keeps me going.
My music is structurally simple, shaped more by feel and sound than formal design, and I’m completely fine with that. I’ve always written from instinct, and my hope is that even in their simplicity, my songs bring some peace or happiness to someone’s life.
I’ve also been a luthier since 1994, building and refining acoustic guitars through my workshop, Santarius Acousticals. My approach is hands‑on and practical, grounded in years of experimentation and a deep respect for the craft. I focus on creating approachable, expressive instruments for real players.
