Rico Waya Hoffmann Rushworth (aka RicoR or "Rico Starr") is a Native American-German drummer, beatboxer, singer, rapper and writer. He is the drummer for the alternative indie rock band Spellsingers and the americana southern rock group Something Else. He also plays with a jazz group called Lee and the Lost Boys, and the Santa Cruz based cover band Honeytone, alongside well known songwriter and musician Dan Frechette. RicoR also plays and records drums for not only Frechette's original music, but also Maia Rowan and Jedd Vultur's tracks as well. When RicoR is not working with bands or other solo artists, he works on his craft as a solo artist himself. Rico writes rap/beatbox, as well as pop rock songs, and sometimes performs those songs solo or with a band. Many of his songs deal with the experience he has an Indigenous person, and they seek to spread messages related to the political struggles of minorities like himself.
