Rum Sanders is 2021’s breakthrough hip hop artist coming out of Richmond Heights, Florida. The rapper’s inaugural record is a dynamic lyrical commentary influenced by R&B, soul, reggae and dancehall. Sanders came of age musically in the 90s, starting to write and perform at the age of 10. Inspired by his mother, a singer named Juliette Middleton who introduced Sanders to the sounds of Prince, Muddy Waters, The Beatles and Bob Marley, and his father Andre, who turned his life around from the streets to the church and community, Sanders understood the healing power of words. Playing ball as an outlet to express his emotions, Sanders was no stranger to bright lights and crowds, but a talent for writing lyrics led to a more supreme calling.
