Minneapolis alternative-rock group Sun Wave Mountain Cave is ready to share their quarantine project ‘Midwest Kid’ and spread the Minnesota sound. The 5 track EP, recorded at Flat Black Studios’ in Iowa City, showcases tight vocal harmonies, intertwined guitars, and collaborative storytelling. From the dueling guitars of Hockey Night, to the introspective singer-songwriter stylings of Mason Jennings, SWMC is determined to take influence from their local roots and display the versatility of midwestern alternative music. Whether it's the powerfully youthful title track ‘Midwest Kid’ inspired by the music of The Replacements and Hüsker Dü, or the rich harmonic singing reminiscent of The Jayhawks on 'Yellow Dotted Line', SWMC feels at home no matter the genre.
