Saviour McKnight, real name Casper Mkhululi Makaba, was born in a township called Winnie Mandela. Born and bred in this township, he was a quite kid who would only express himself on the stage. He used to dance and perform at the church where his father is a pastor. He attributes his unique sound to his early upbringing at the church, which was then heavily influenced by his friend who also makes music. "Music freed me. It was my most satisfying act of rebellion. I sometimes wish that wasn't the case but now I'm too addicted." This is the feeling that he wishes to convey to his audience, the feeling of letting go.
