Ever since I was a wee lad growing up in Bakersfield, CA., I have always wanted to be an artist - whether it was making movies and stop-motion animation with my Star Wars action figures with my dad's Super8 camera or creating Polaroid collages. Art and artistic expression has always been a huge part of who I am. And now that artistic expression has expanded to include MUSIC CREATION. As a child, I took both piano and guitar lessons. But I didn’t really enjoy practicing all that much. I would rather engage in dirt clod fights with the neighborhood kids than tickle the ivories or pluck the strings. I often imagine where I might be musically had I chosen instruments over dirt. But I digress. Artists like Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter, Vangelis, Wendy Carlos, Art of Noise, Perturbator and Doubting Thomas have inspired me for years. That inspiration has given birth to the music moniker SCAREDY-CAT. SCAREDY-CAT creates music that mixes synth sounds with dialogue samples from cult cinema.
