Simmy, being the only child, has had musical influences throughout his life with his father being a DJ, and his mother, an influential gospel singer. Simmy began writing music and poetry at the age of 13 and continuously has been a force to be reckoned with ever since. He credits his music aspirations to his cousin Shawn. His musical influences are an assortment of artist such as R. Kelly, Kanye West, James Brown, and Timbland just to name a few.
