Simon Le Ma is the solo project of Simon Martens, a 27-year old songwriter living in Ghent, Belgium. As a kid, Simon was fascinated by language, drawing and the art of writing a compelling story. He had been making whacky comic books when his friends introduced him to playing guitar at the age of 17. From then on, he started focusing heavily on music and learned how to write songs for different musical projects such as Safran, Mister Moon and Flanel. In 2021, he decided to write a concept album. He took a week off work, isolated himself in an apartment in Ostend and recorded nine songs. Later on, those ideas were further refined by production and mixing engineer Xavier De Clercq @ Poolside Studio. The album is a chronological story about a housewarming party that you didn't want to go to in the first place. If you listen closely to the lyrics, you'll hear the evening unfold as the awkward initial conversations make way for jealous, anxious and desperate monologues.
