Violett…bio Originally known as SubCode, I spent years immersed in the world of DJing and producing dance music. But after hitting a creative burnout, I turned back to my roots: picking up my guitar and rediscovering the art of songwriting. This shift happened even before COVID, back in 2018, and from then on, my guitar has gently wept, guiding me through a blend of ’80s post-punk influences like Gang of 4 and The Cure, alongside the raw energy of ’90s grunge—Smashing Pumpkins was a key pit stop in that journey. As I continued exploring, dream pop icons like Beach House helped me refine my sound, but it wasn’t until diving into early shoegaze from My Bloody Valentine and the edge of Ringo Deathstar that I truly found my voice. Now, as Blinded by Violets, I write, sing, produce, and arrange every layer of my music, blending loud guitars with dreamy atmospheres. It’s time to let the sonic power of guitars and dream pop take center stage.”
