I've been recording and experimenting since I was 12 years old. About 10 years later I got recruited to play on a novelty record as the lead guitarist in the Slickee Boys. Soon after the record was finished, we became an actual band. Our song, "Put a Bullet through the Jukebox" encapsulated the mood of a lot of Washington DC musicians in the '70s and '80s who felt alienated. I thrashed around with punk energy, but at the same time, I always had eerie harmonious sounds buzzing around in my head. From Rolling Stone magazine:
"...dedicated to the proposition that man can create an equal and absolute other reality, not with the tools of the physicist, but with the fuzz-tone guitar..The secret weapon in the Slickee Boy's arsenal is guitarist Marshall Keith." Music has always been therapeutic for me. I wrote a lot while pondering painful experiences. But when I get involved with a new project, that's when I'm happiest.
