Aldershot, UK
Mark Nelson is an English guitarist and singer/songwriter. Born with one arm, he plays one-handed, using his thumb to pluck and strum and three fingers to fret a right-handed guitar, left-handed, in normal tuning.
Mark’s influences range from 60’s beat music, blues, rock, psychedelia to modern folk. His emotive and honest songwriting crosses over from heartfelt blues and energetic soul to melodic light pop and heavy rock, making it a perfect match for playlists that might include Jon Allen, Seasick Steve, Graham Coxon and Jake Bugg. A prolific writer, Mark’s impressive fretboard wizardry and ‘raspy vocals’ are earning him accolades across Southern England.
Mark spent his formative years as a guitarist/songwriter in various rock bands, of which Slinki Malinki was managed/produced by the legendary producer Gus Dudgeon. Having played acoustic blues with his Blues band for many years he is embarking on putting together a heavy rock duo along with drummer, Paul Stone.
