J. Love The Soundsmith

Jeff Love first got his chance to show off his DJ skills ("that I'd practiced on my sister's and mom's record players") during his college days behind the decks at KSCR radio. Aspirations of being the next rapper/singer/dancer triple threat fizzled out when J. Love couldn't find a reliable producer to help him cut a demo. Pretty soon, the music became more important, and J. taught himself how to DJ by doing parties for the radio station and stealing studio time to hone his craft. After cutting a few self-produced demos ("rapping lyrics so abstract I didn't even know what I meant."), J. gave up rapping and added "The Soundsmith" to distinguish himself from other J Loves in the industry. J. entered a few DJ battles in the L.A. area during the early 2000s and did okay, but champion level success in that field eluded him. J. Love The Soundsmith spends most of his middle age playing PS5, writing stories about fairies and stuff, and making beats.
