Steven Marriott is a Canadian singer-songwriter who writes songs the way stories are meant to be told—vivid, honest, and grounded in the little details that make moments feel real. His music blends folk-rock roots with modern textures, balancing heartfelt reflection with subtle humour and a sense of adventure.
Difficult to pin to a single genre, his sound pulls from a wide range of influences—from traditional folk and Celtic tones to contemporary pop and global rhythms—while staying anchored in strong melodies and lyrical storytelling.
His debut album Caught in Parallax showcases a thoughtful, cinematic approach to songwriting, exploring themes of perspective, change, and stepping beyond the familiar. That same spirit has shaped his path as an artist, taking him far beyond his West Coast beginnings to perform across aboard expedition ships in Antarctica and Europe, experiences that echo through his writing in both tone and scope.
