I've had cabaret experience as a performer in a small venue in my late teens and into my 20's. Ukrainian Caravan Restaurant & Tavern was the venue. There were only two locations, both not around now for years. I have been songwriting on and off for over 30 years. Nothing has materialized, recognition amassed only in small circles and mainly for my performing. At one point was a vocalist and percussion instrumentalist in a Ukrainian polka/wedding band for a few years, (Bukovina Brass) compiled and released the band's only album and then just simply disbanded. I really wanted to work towards becoming more well known and marketable but I guess that just turned out to be me. I was born in Canada to Ukrainian immigrant parents and am able to converse in a fairly fluent Ukrainian language. I have even written a couple songs entirely in the Ukrainian language.
