The Thirds are a multi-faceted collective of Hip Hop artists based out of London (UK.) The Thirds’ sound is centralised around a minimalist and authentic approach. Verses are recorded in one take and delivered candidly in the vocalist's natural voice and accent, the aim is to let the beat speak for itself and let it breathe rather than exasperate it (less is more sometimes, especially when it comes to autotune!) The Thirds set themselves apart by the symbolism and themes that can be drawn from their lyrics, they write songs and ballads opposed to provocative rap anthems - something like Bob Dylan if he couldn’t sing a note or play the guitar. The Thirds aim to disrupt the perceptions people have of Hip Hop culture by putting the quality of the production and lyrics at the forefront and avoid taking their shirts off in music videos at all costs. Founding members include Rory Jackson (aka Rorkid), Tristan Mulligan (aka Mulligvn) and Connor Kettle (aka DJ Citizen K.)
