Joshua Sandy Martinez was brought into a world of music and instruments from the ripe young age of five. Born on April 7th 1994 to Dominican immigrants and growing up in the heart of Queens, it was easy for hip hop to steal his heart. Coming from Corona Queens, where the notorious Lefrak buildings are located, Joshua gathered influence from the greats such as Nas, Prodigy, Capone N Noreaga to create his own writing style blend of aggresive and intricate wordplay with the raw and unorthodox 1990s style of rhyming. By eight years old, Joshua was writing songs and counting bars and by the age of fourteen, he was recording in homemade studios. Over time, he began to see that mainstream hip hop was losing its rawness and authenticity, so he chose the moniker Yeshua, which means Salvation, God is Deliverance, to rescue. Delivering English on Latin rhythms and vice versa Yeshua takes a different approach at music today mixing hip hop with Reggaeton, Dembow and EDM.
