In short Tufkut is a BBoy Dj who produces 80's/90's BoomBap HipHop and plays out 60's/70's Funk for the folks. Tufkut started Djing in '86 and after working with Mc2Fine for a couple of years linked with RobLife in '90 and released LTK001 in '91. After to-ing and fro-ing between labels TufKut, RobLife and STS set up the Beats in Progress label in '97 and is ran solely by Tufkut until today. Being part of the original Breakin'Bread trio that set up the nightclub and record label in '98 this also led to a show on Itch FM until 2019. All along, Beats in Progress were recording working with a stable of solid vocalists: Chrome (Deftex/Chrome & IllInspired), TMO, King Kashmere (Strange U), DPF, Mad Flow, Craig G (Juice Crew), Percee P, Uptown (Buckshot LeFonque), El Da Sensei (Artifacts) & Chubb Rock. Using classic equipment for a solid slice of Golden Era HipHop, an Akai S950 and an Atari ST with a stack of Breaks, bringing you the full character soundscape the way Grandma used to make.
