Earl "Phunk Dawg/ Unkle Phunk" Williams born and raised in Baton Rouge, La August 3, 1970. At age 8, Phunk stared leaning the trumpet at Southern University Lab. School. At 13 he stared DJing at house parties. Then at age 17 he signed a recording contract at an indie record company in Jackson,MS where Phunk was label mates with Bobby Rush, Ricky White, JT Watkins, The Canton Spirituals. During that time Phunk/Prep was traveling back and forth from Jackson, MS to Memphis, TN. That's where he met Nester Snell (J. Blackfoot), William Brown (Barkays, Al Greene), & Willie "Pop" Mitchell (Al Green). That where he got mentored and was schooled on soul/funk music. Phunk later moved back to Baton Rouge where he met up with his cousin Stephanie McDee, that's where he was re-introduced in southern soul music. Phunk moved to TX and where the hit song Do The Ratchet by Boosie . few years passed then he met up with Hurricane Chris and took the world by storm with A Bay Bay...
