VEXPLORES

Calgary

V EXPLORES is the music and storytelling project of Venkat, a Telugu creator who believes art has no form. It can become anything to make something beautiful. The songs are rooted in the Telugu and Sanskrit devotional tradition: classical stotras set to raga-based melodies with a modern cinematic pulse, made to take the listener inward, with pronunciation treated as sacred. Every release belongs to a larger story. The first come from an animated short film he is making on the friendship of Vishnu and Shiva. The melody, the lyrical video and the film it belongs to all come from the same hands. The name is an invitation. V looks like a letter, but say it and it's a word: we. Every song asks you to explore together, and to carry one belief forward: "It's not the matter of how you live your life when you have everything. It's the matter of how you stand when you don't have anything." Devotionals, lyricals and melodies now. His own songwriting is the next chapter.
