Initially beginning as a hobby in 2014 to break away from journalist aspirations, Vance B (founder of GLR) has recently emerged as a prospect among DC's dynamic DJ scene. Known for a mixing style featuring infectious loops, an ear for diverse sound, and surprising turns, he's built a catalog that showcases his work through the Grooveline Radio and Off the Dribble mix series on Mixcloud. In 2016, he began DJing professionally at house parties and various bars before catching a break at Layla Lounge later that year. His budding relationship with Layla would grow into tremendous opportunities like mixing for Devin The Dude's album listening party, maintaining year-long residencies for Meltdown and Budz and Bass meetups, and opening for great DJs around the city. In 2020, Vance rediscovered a love for making beats. It was supposed to be (once again) a hobby, but opportunities producing for local talent have opened the door to new beginnings for the multi-talented artist.
